Why take newborn pictures?
Newborn photos are a celebration of you—the one who carried this tiny seed to germination—your baby, and your family's unique story. These photos capture more than just how your newborn looks; they reflect the love, connection, and joy in your home as you welcome this new life.
Newborn pictures are about documenting the little details: the way your baby fits into your arms, the smiles exchanged, and the space where these first memories are made. Newborn photography isn’t just about the baby—it’s about your whole family, capturing the heartfelt interactions and emotions that define this special moment. Your home, your love, your life together—all preserved in beautiful images that you’ll treasure forever.
Stylish & Hip Kids' Approach to newborn photography
Our approach to newborn photography is natural and relaxed. Our photographers help build a fun environment so you can enjoy each other and take a moment to honor the family you’re building rather than worry about getting the pictures (that’s our job!). This is part of the reason that we won’t book another photo session directly after your newborn session, so there’s no need to feel rushed: We can take the time we need to accommodate feedings, diaper changes, alien invasions (who knows, life with newborns is unpredictable!!).

What to expect from your newborn photo session
What's age should newborn photos be taken?
This depends on your preferences. If you want pictures of your baby dreamy, with their eyes closed, the first 10 days can be awesome time. If you wait a little longer, you'll have more awake time during your session where your kid will be alert with their eyes opened. We suggest you don't stress yourself—newborn pictures can be anything in the first three months. Waiting a bit can give mom a moment to recover from giving birth and the whole family to bond with your child.

How long is a newborn photography session?
Newborn photography sessions last up to two hours long. We take our time in newborn photography sessions and don't book another session directly after, so that we can maintain a relaxed environment, and take time to pause for feedings, to clean up messes, for wardrobe changes, and to breathe and keep it light.
