And of course, spring is brought in with gorgeous blooms from our luscious flowering trees: the magnolias, callery pears, the eastern redbuds, and of course the cherry trees. They're spring's version of the fall leaves and they're a great stop on your photo shoot.

When should I book my spring session?

While every year is unique, we generally start moving into the spring sessions the last week of March. Weekends in that April window, when people start poking their heads out and the trees are blooming, can get booked quickly so the earlier you book the easier it will be to secure the time you want.
When are the cherry blossoms and other trees flowering?

The flowering trees are gorgeous throughout their span—from when the buds start popping through when they are dropping with the weight of their full bloom. While each season is unique, the trees generally start blooming late March and keep their flowers to the end of April. You can check out this bloom and tree guide from the Central Park Conservancy for more information. If you want to make sure you get pictures with cherry blossoms, we recommend booking for early April. That way, if you get rained out you'll have a better chance of rescheduling.
Where is the best location for my spring family photos?

We love to celebrate the parks in this time, but as always we also love all aspects of the city. The cherry blossoms and other flowering trees can be found across the city, so there are lots of locations we can use with them. The majority of our spring sessions though take place in Central Park, Prospect Park, or the Brooklyn Botanical Garden.
